Safe Space for Youth

In October we launched the first Youth Drop-In night at CCI’s Cyber Cafe, offering free tutoring, games, and dinner. The Southern Connected Communities Project (SCCP) will be hosting these youth drop in nights every Tuesday from 4-8pm. The youth drop-in is a safe space, where school kids ages 8 and up are welcome to come, learn, relax, and enjoy the space. SCCP has worked to ensure that an adult will be present each night and has secured the help of several tutors to consistently provide tutoring for homework help, SAT and ACT-prep, college application help, job applications, and any other needs. Youth can get help doing homework, applying to college, make use of the library, play board an- d card games, video games, ball games, or watch movies together. The hope is that the space will become one where young people feel welcomed to come do work and learn with each other. We are currently following the CDC guidelines regarding COVID-19.

We are asking for donations of the following items to help build the space. If you are able to help, please reach out to April at 423-441-9272 or ail items to 126 Allen's Ridge LN, Clairfield, TN 37715
